Abstract

Device for improving the efficiency of a radiative system by means of parasitic elements obtained on the ground plane, consisting of half-wavelength dipoles (1) and four slots not directly fed (2), the latter being excited by said active elements connected to a power supply (4). The main purpose is to control the irradiation diagram of an array of dipoles by means of said slots (2). The invention is placed in the technical field of antennas, more particularly in that of microwave antennas and can be used, in the application field, on reflector antennas for air traffic control, where an S-band sighting is required, together to an interrogation function obtained by inserting the innovative device in a possible pre-existing illuminator capable of exercising control over the radiation diagram of the entire radiant system or antenna, depending on the purpose for which it is intended.
