Abstract
Liquid softening composition for a rinsing cycle which comprises up to 50% by weight of A an organic cationic compound which is substantive for rinsing textile fibres with water, from 0.01 to 5% by weight of B a foam- controlling silicone agent comprising a liquid polydiorganosiloxane and solid hydrophobic filter particles and C a non-ionic or cationic surfactant capable of emulsifying the foam-controlling silicone agent to at least a certain extent. Component C is preferably present in a weight ratio of component B to component C of between 1/1 and 1/5 and is preferably a polydiorganosiloxane/oxyalkylene copolymer. A process for the treatment of textile fabrics using the application of such compounds is also claimed.
