Orthoptic instrument for examining and exercising visual function, comprising a screen 1 on which to move at least one sight 3 in which said screen 1 is a thin plate of paramagnetic material with two active faces, one 11 anterior, i.e. turned towards the patient, and the other 12 posterior, i.e. turned towards the examiner, and the anterior face of which 11 is provided with at least one magnetized sight 3 which is associated with a corresponding magnetized sight 30 positioned in juxtaposition to the posterior face 12 of the screen 1, interposed in such a way as to be spontaneously held to the screen 1 and with the possibility of being slid on it 1, under the guidance of the patient, who manually operates one or the other of said sights 3, 30, or of the examiner, who manually operates the posterior sight 30.
