Abstract

The procedure for moulding hollow bodies in thermoplastic material in one sole operation consists of these phases: depositing a first sheet of thermoplastic material onto the lower part of a mould in two parts, at least one of which having recesses or cavities respective to the joining point of the two halves of the mould; arranging one or more channel/s for the flow of fluid downwards into the sheet; depositing a pre-heated second sheet in thermoplastic material onto the first sheet and onto the channel/s whilst distributing fluid at a pressure and/or with a jet sufficient to keep the two sheets apart; close the mould pushing the sheets together and unifying them along chosen sections of the joining plane of the half-moulds; the previous fluid, or other fluid is distributed at a pressure sufficient to model the sheets into the aforesaid cavities of the mould. When the hollow part has been moulded, fluid distribution is interrupted, the feeding channel/s is/are removed from the moulded part and the part is taken from the mould which is then ready for another moulding operation.
