Abstract

This invention refers to an electronic control system for refrigerators comprising of a freezer compartment cooled directly by a compressor, at least one general compartment and a compartment where the humidity and asepticity can be controlled (crisper), cooled by cool air coming from the freezer section through channels equipped with closable doors, comprising: a control circuit and a circuit to display the temperature in the single compartment, each independent from the other; a control circuit to defrost the freezer compartment and a circuit to display any malfunctions and then close off the defrost circuit; a control circuit for manually starting the defrost cycle; a display circuit for any defrost-refreezing due to malfunctions stemming from a power cut; a circuit to control the humidity levels in the crisper compartment; a circuit to control sterilization in the crisper compartment during ionisation; a power circuit and a timing circuit to supply the various voltages, time signals and controls necessary for the above circuits; an EEPROM memory cell circuit used to store the attributes needed for defrosting; to store and signal refreeze conditions; to select the length and time of the ionisation cycle; to select the timing, length of time and the method used to choose the defrost program; to select the length of the evaporation cycle for dispersing any water resulting from a defrost cycle; to select the compressor's mode; to set up the supply circuit so that any power supply rate can work.
