Abstract

Proposal for the stabilization of earth slides in inhabited zones, characterized by slow movements, and by deep sliding surfaces, especially if located in proximity to resistant base layers, through the use of wells formed of covering rings with pre-set joints, resistant to seismic activity, and having draining action. The rings are used in deep pre-stressed anchorings, in such a way so as to render the zone seismically resistant to sliding movements. The structural system permits:- Cost reduction and improvement in stabilization benefits with respect to traditional consolidating structures, especially at sliding depths greater than 10 meters, and for zones of high seismic activity.- Execution of an auto-seeking operation, up to the establishment of an equilibrated condition of the earth mass in movement, which allows for shifts between the rings and the tie-rods to occur, until installation of the stabilization of the slide is established.- Reaching whatsoever sliding depths, blocking it by the diameter of the well, which at the final blockage of the joints, presents no distortions, and therefore offers integral resistance to seismic activity.- Direct drainage of the percolating waters by horizontally pre-arranged joints.
