Abstract

A suspension system for a motor vehicle consists of a cross-beam (1) with extensions (2) running at right angles to the main part (1') and joined to it by curved portions (3). This cross-beam (1) is supported by Y shaped brackets (5) attached to the vehicle by pivoted joints (6). These brackets (5) are shaped to match the curved portions (3) of the cross-beam (1). The main part (L') of the cross-beam (1) has a U-shaped cross-section whilst the end portions (2) have closed hollow cross-sections.
