Abstract
A tube comprises a cylindrical body (T) of sheet with plastics laminated on either side of metal and a plastics head with mouth and shoulder and formed as a bonded body of inner and outer layers, one waterproof and the other airtight. The cap is a thin laminated sheet with a plastics film which can be welded to the outside of the head on the upper surface of an aluminium sheet. A film of adhesive resin paint is laminated on the undersurface of the aluminium, and the upper surface film is welded to the outer layer of the head. The waterproof layer is pref. polyethylene or polypropylene, and the airtight layer is of polyethylene- or polybutylene- terephthalate, melamine, urea or phenolic resin. The upper surface of the cap is pref. low-density polyethylene or polypropylene, and the undersurface is of polyurethane or epoxy resin.
