Abstract

Towels or handkerchiefs are folded into at least horizontally superposed layers with the edges offset from each other and stacked in a container having a dispensing opening slot. Each towel has a layer of rigid or semi-rigid material applied to a limited area adjacent an edge of the towel which will be aligned with the slot. The towels are imbued with disinfectant, deodorising and/or detergent substances before or after stacking.
