Abstract

Eye drops containing peroxycam (4-hydroxy -2-methyl(-N-2-pyridyl -2-1,2-benzothiadiazine -3-carboxamide -1,1-dioxide) in hypertonic sterile aqueous solution. The compsns. are pref. completely free from metal ions and, in addn. to the piroxycam, they contain Na or Ca EDTA, a buffer, such as disodium phosphate, together with stabilisers. They are stored in sealed containers under nitrogen, where they are stable for over two years, and, when opened and a dropper inserted, they are stable for 30 days.
