Abstract

The electrical heating cable includes at least two electrode bus wires (1) arranged parallel to one another. The electrodes are electrically bridged at spaced apart locations by a heater wire (4) having greater electrical resistance than said electrodes and a high positive temperature coefficient (PTC). The heater wire may be a 70percent nickel 30percent iron alloy. Insulation (2) is stripped from the bus wires at intervals to allow heating wire to make electrical contact.
