Abstract

The method is esp. intended for lining diaphragm valve bodies. A straight PTFE pipe is inserted into the component so that it extends beyond each end of the component. A warm support mandrel is then introduced into the PTFE pipe. The ends of the PTFE pipe (32) are held in press and axially compressed by force of 0.1-6 KN. The PTFE pipe is then drilled at the opening (5) and a drawing mandrel is inserted into the pipe (3). The pipe (3) is heated to 180-400 deg.C in the vicinity of the opening. The drawing mandrel is pulled out through the opening using a drawing tool. Finally the ends (32) of the PTFE pipe (3) are trimmed and/or a pipe extension (4) with PTFE lining is added
