Continuous prodn. of snacks from ceral flour comprises: (a) continuously feeding the flour into an enclosure having feed and delivery ends (b) transporting the flour inside the enclosure under friction from the feed to the delivery end with conditions preventing its swelling; (c) subjecting the flour inside the enclosure to a gradually increasing temp. to plasticize and rpessurize it; (d) extruding the plastizcized flour through a die so that it swells up and solidifies to produce a continuous body; and (e) comminuting the continuous body
