Abstract
Imidazole derivs. of formula (I) and their acid-addn. salts are new. In (I), R is 1-12C alkyl or PhCH2 or Ph both opt. ring substd. by 1-3 halogen, CF3 or 1-4C alkyl; and X is O or S. (I) are C.N.S. active agents esp. anticonvulsants, anorexigenic agents, antidepressants and muscle relaxants; they are also inhibitors of gastric secretion, antihypertensives, antifungals, antibacterials and antiprotozoals. Dose is 0.1-300 mg./kg. daily.
