Abstract
Sampling system for high pressure gases contaminated with solid particles employs a network of control valves to produce sequential operation in which a sample is extracted from the high pressure line, partly cleaned of solids, cooled, reduced in pressure and flushed in a carrier gas stream into an analyser. The entire network is then flushed clean with steam and dried with a through flow of dry air ready for the next sample. Used for sampling of dirty, dusty hydrocarbon gases esp. in fluid catalytic cracking plants in oil refining.
