Abstract

The unit (1) is intended for cutting lengths of tube, bar or the like (V) and may be one of a number of units (1) placed side by side. It comprises a supply station (2) (with stop 6), a cutting station (3; circular saw blade being raised through slot 10, and work clamp 11), and a station (4) where the cut lengths are received. One or more lift elements (20) are provided to segregate one tube or a group of tubes from the supply and transfer it laterally in steps along the successive stations (the support surfaces of the stations are downwardly inclined in the transfer direction).
