Abstract

A dental treatment chair comprises a lever mechanism (5, 6, 12, 14) for the mutual connection of seat (2), backrest (3) and leg support (4), which is movable via a pneumatically operated piston (19) or another technically equivalent means which automatically achieves an increase or a reduction in the inclination of the backrest (3) and the leg support (4) relative to the seat (2) as well as simultaneous positioning of the seat (2) and the leg support (4) (whether relative to the hinge point (13) of the backrest (3) or in the height relative to the base structure (1) of the chair) independently of the drive means for lifting the entire complex comprising seat (2), backrest (3), leg support (4). The lever mechanism is designed such that inclination of the backrest (3) is possible without any movement impairment due to means located at the sides of the seat (2) and permitting a corresponding movement of the seat (2) relative to the backrest (3) in order to avoid friction between the back of the patient and the backrest (3) during the increased or reduced inclination. <IMAGE>
