Abstract
This is Patent of Addn. to P.2434063. compsn. for protecting keratinous materials, e.g. skin and hair, against noxious effects of detergents and other sharp materials and against unfavourable climatic conditions, contains esp. 0.1-90 wt.% of a chemically modified protein having isoionic pont pH 6(2.5-5.5). At least a part of -COOH or of prim. amino gps. of the initial protein are replaced by gps. -(CO)Q or - NHYQ (where Y is a direct bond, a carbonyl or sulphonyl gp. and Q are gps. R, SR, OR or NHR, in which R is 7C alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, cycloalkyl or a heterocyclic gp., and alkyl and alkenyl gps. are opt. interrupted by heteroatoms or substd. by non-ionic or cationic gps.). Soap bars, shampoos, liquid dish-washing compsns., bath additives, heavy duty wash, cleaning compsns. for hard surfaces. Activity on keratin is exerted even in foaming detergents, without loss in foaming or cleaning power.
