Abstract

The working surface height is altered by means of two diagonal surfaces with connector devices along them and engaging with each other, in all vertical or inclined supports for the piece of furniture concerned. The devices can be in the form of teeth along one surface engaging in mating recesses in the other, and arranged in groups. In the lowest position of the working surface the two inclined surfaces can cover each other completely. The system can be used in particular on school benches and chairs, to adjust to the height of the occupant.
