Abstract
Disclosed are a method and system for transmitting a network video relating to the technical field of the Internet and being able to reduce the data processing costs of the network router and buffer reduce the waiting time and improve the user experience. The method in the present invention includes: a terminal device sending video server name information in video request information to a local domain name server; the terminal device receiving address information about a buffer sent by the local domain name server and sending the video request information to the buffer according to the address information about the buffer; detecting whether there is a video resource corresponding to video identification information in the video request information in the buffer; and if there is a video resource corresponding to video identification information in the buffer then the buffer sending the video resource to the terminal device. The present invention is suitable for transmitting network video resources.
