Description
78243/2 ί ·0 CONTAINER ZEEV HAREL - 1 - 78243/3 The present invention relates to a container.
It is very often desirable to have at your disposal containers which may be stacked one on top of another when they are filled, and be inserted into one another when they are empty.
The latter is desirable in order that the empty containers can be stored or moved without requiring much space.
There are known some of such containers, however they are not always satisfactory either in the construction, in their strength or are rather expensive.
It has thus been desirable to construct a container which would overcome the above disadvantages and solve the above problems.
The present invention thus consists in a substantially conical container comprising a bottom plate, four walls erected substantially perpendicular to said bottom plate, seatings projecting inwardly being provided to the upper side of each wall, said seatings being rotatable up to 240° around the upper end of each wall and being provided with recesses at the upper faces, a separate cover being provided with pins to be inserted in said recesses, the dimensions of said cover being smaller than the dimensions of the bottom plate.
From U.S. Specification 3,586,205 there is known a transport container (hereinafter "known container") . However, there are significant differences between the known container and that of the present invention, inter alia: a. The known container is not conical, whereas the present container is. b. The cover cannot be inserted into the known container, whereas in the new container it can. c. The known container can be stacked one upon another but cannot be inserted one into another.
.Jhe' new. -containers can be inserted one into another. d . In the new container the seating is an integral part of the container, whereas the supporting faces of the known container is a part of the detachable cover.
If desirable, the, cover maybe provided with holes or with arrangements which, by punching, can provide such holes. Said holes are sometimes desired for aerating the contents of the container.
Moreover, if required, outside the bottom plate may be arranged a second cover. - 2 - The seating serves as base for the cover. When the seating is closed it enables, together with the cover, a sealing of the container, and thus the full containers may be stacked one upon another. When the containers are empty and to be inserted one into another, the seatings are rotated outwards.
The container according to the present invention may be manufactured from any suitable materials, e.g., P.V.C., meta 1 -p-l-a e-, wood, cardboard, etc., the preferred material being P.V.C.
It is advisable to provide the walls: and/or the bottom plate With strengthening ribs. Thus, the thickness of the walls, eg., may be reduced to about 3 mm, otherwise the walls have to be thicker, e.g. about 8 mm. It is readily understood that it is advantageous to have thinner walls, achieving the same effect.
The present invention will now be illustrated with reference to the accompanying drawings, without being limited by same. (The same reference numerals are being used for identical parts appearing in several Figs.).
In said drawings : Fig. 1 shows an isometric view of a container according to the present container; Fig. 2 shows a cross-section of a seating being connected to a Wall; / F g. 3 shows detail B of Fig. 2; Fig. 4 shows a front view of a wall according to the present invention; Fig. 5 shows a side view of a wall according to the resent invention - - Fig. 6 shows a top view of a closed container according to the present invention; and Fig. 7 shows a front view of two empty containers inserted one into another.
The container shown in Fig. 1 comprises- walls.1 , with strengthening ribs 2, bottom 3 and cover 4. It also shows seating 5 and holes 6 for the pins.
Figs. 2 and 3 show seatings in detail, comprising frame -pl-a-te 7, being provided with means 8 for raising said 'f ci m Θ ■pi-ex-e 7. Recess 9 is provided for the insertion of cover 4 and holes 6 for the insertion of pins to connect cover 4 Frame to seating 5. -f-iflte 7 is connected to walls 1 by pins 10 to be inserted through holes 11.
Figs. 4 to 6 shows several views of the container shown in Fig. 1 (with and without cover). Cover 4 in Fig. 6 is provided with holes 12.
Fig. 7 shows two containers inserted one inside another. Covers 4 are provided with means 13 and 13' enabling the raising of same.
