Abstract

2,2-Dichloro-(cis)-3-methyl-(trans)-3- chloromethylcyclopropylmethanol is a novel compound which is a valuable fungicide for agriculture and horticulture or valuable as an intermediate for the synthesis of other cyclopropane derivatives and of other compounds. The compound can be prepared, for example, by means of the following process, in which a compound of the formula (II) <IMAGE> is reacted with an alkali metal hydroxide.r
