Description

Device for mixing water and soap to obtain foam The. present invention relates to a device for foaming a water and soap or detergent mixture* as now for cleaning purposes, and more particularly of a device of this kind which can be attached to a ater tap so that the device dispenses a mixture of water and soap or detergent foam ready for rinsing articles such as crockery or vessels and for personal washing* It is the object of the invention to provide a device which can be attached to a water tap and which dispenses the said foam, both 'i^coimec't on^with a supply of hot or cold water.
According to the invention the new device comprises a casing having an inlet provided with means for attachment, to a water tap....9 A,,an outlet, wMch p prefera ly coaxial with the inlet, there being further provided a laterally extending branch adapted to be connected to a veafefel containing a soap solution and/or a liquid detergent The invention will ro be described with reference to the annexed drawings wherein Fig. 1 ie a schematical view, in axial section of the device, while Pig. 2 is a perspective view of the new device fitted with the container for the saap or detergent solution, Fig. 3. is an elevational section of the device shown in Fig. 2* Fig. is a view of a slightly different device while Fig. 5 is a sectional view ό£ the device of Fig. (not shown in Fig. 1) holding eoap solution or diluted liquid detergent. the device functions as follows! it is attached by means of a screw thread 3 to an exterlally screw thredded tap or in any other manner. The vessel holding the said solution is connected to the branch 9· Now when th e tap is open and the flow into the casing 1 starts, through injection, part of the solution in the vessel (which is not shown in the drawing) is drawn into the stream passing from portion k to portion 5 a d towards the wad 6; The liquid passes through the haphazardly arranged fibers and thereby turbulence is created which results in form which accumulates in the chamber 7» to exit therefrom through the outlet 8 under the urge of the flow.
Thus in this manner the apparatus dispenses a ready-made foam for cleaning purposes.
Turning now to Figs.2 and 3 which show practical embodiments, jrhe casing 1 is connected to the tpp by ' means of a conduit 15· The detergent or soap solution is held in a vessel 16 connected to the casing 1 by the branc 9 already referred to. It is possible, though not necessary, to provide a cock in branch 9 which is indicated in the drawing by the numeral 17 so as to shut off the flow of detergent or soap (solution from the vessel 16. When that is the case, clear water will emerge from the outlet 8, however the cock 1? can be opened to a larger or lesser extent thereby emittin smalle or greater quantities of detergent or soap solution.
The Invention will now he described with reference to the annexed drawings wherein Fig* 1 is a schematical view, in axial section of the device, while Fig* 2 is a perspective view of the new device fitted with the container for the soap or detergent solution, Fig. 3 is an. elevational section of the device shown in Fig* 2, Fig* ¾ is a view of a slightly different device while Fig. 5 is a sectional view of the device of Fig. * Turnin first to Fig* 1 there is provided an elongated casing indicated as a whole by the numeral 1 having an inlet 2 is¾ ?h is provided with an internal screw thread 3 means of which it can be attached to water tap. it would of course be possible to attach the device to a water tap by other conventional means. The internal oavity o the1 casing 1 is subdivided into two portions and 5 which are con cal and face one another with their thinner ends* In the widest part of the portions 5 is provided a wad 6 of fibrous material* Beyond the wad 6 there is chamber 7 from which an outlet 8 leads intothe open* This device has a lateral angularly ex ending branch 9 having an inlet 10 from which a narrow bore 11 leads into the interior of the casing 1 and more particularly into the narrowest part thereof between the portions h and 5» Within the bore 11 there is provided screw 12 which can be screwed · in and out of the conduit 11 thereby obstructing to a lesser or greater part the passage from the inlet 10 into the bores 11 thus constituting a oontrol of flow through the conduit 11* To the inlet 10 there is connected a vessel ¾; A slightly different arrangement is shown in Fl\g» In fact the construdtion according to Figs* 4 and 5, is similar to that shown in Fig* 2 but the conduit 15 is branched off from an outlet 20 from the tap which is controlled by a codk 21» Thus when it is desired to have only water emerge from outlet 20» the cock 21 la shut

Claims (3)

1. WHAT IS CLAIMED IS I a liquid detergent there b^eingjrovlded wJLthin the said casing intermediate the inlet and outlet thereof a wad of fibrous material through which the liquid dispensed from the dispenser has to be passed.
2. The device claimed in claim 1, characterised thereby that the Interior of the casing constitutes a cavity of two portions, both being conical and Joining one another at their thinnest ends, the said laterally extending branch joining the casing at the juncture of the said two portions.
