Abstract

A process for the dyeing of synthetic organic material is described, the said process comprising the discontinuous or continuous dyeing, at temperatures preferably above 120 DEG C, of said material from a dye liquor consisting of 20 to 75 per cent by weight of a water-insoluble, aliphatic or cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon having at least 8 carbon atoms, and 80 to 25 per cent by weight of a polyhalogenated, lower alphatic hydrocarbon boiling between 70 DEG and 180 DEG C, and at least one advantageously finely divided dispersion dyestuff, and optionally further additives; and, optionally, the subsequent rinsing and drying of the dyed synthetic organic material, whereby deeply coloured dyeings are obtained which are even and fast to light, wet-processing, sublimation and rubbing even on poorly absorbing material.
