Abstract
1420976 Pharmaceutical compositions DR KARL THOMAE GmbH 16 Feb 1973 [17 Feb 1972] 7795/73 Heading A5B A pharmaceutical composition comprises, as an active ingredient, a compound of formula: wherein R 1 represents H or a methyl group or a physiologically compatible acid addition salt thereof, a respiration analeptic and a pharmaceutical carrier or excipient. In an example, capsules contain N-(trans-p-hydroxycyclohexyl) - (2-amino-3, 5-dibromo-benzyl)- amine hydrochloride and N-(2-benzoylamino- 6-chloro-benzyl)-N-methyl-glycine morpholide hydrochloride. The compositions may be in forms suitable for oral, rectal or parenteral administration and may also contain antibiotics, bronchodilators, antitussives, antisilicosis agents, corticosteroids and antihistamines.

Claims (17)
1. A pharmaceutical composition for use in the treatment of oedematously atelectatic changes in the lung, said composition comprising as active ingredient a compound of the general formula (wherein represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group) or a physiologically compatible acid addition salt thereof, together with a pharmaceutical excipient or carrier.
2. A composition as claimed in claim 1 wherein the compound of formula I is N-( trans--p_--hydroxycyclohexyl)-- ( 2-amino-3 , 5-dibromobenzyl )-amine or an acid addition salt thereof.
3. A composition as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2 which comprises a further active ingredient.
4. A composition as claimed in claim 3 wherein the further active ingredient is an antitussive, respiration analeptic, bronchodilator , antibiotic, anti-silicosis agent, co ticosteriod or antihistamine.
5. A composition as claimed in any one of the preceding claims ina form suitable for parenteral administration.
6. A composition as claimed in any one of the preceding claims in dosage unit form.
7. A composition as claimed in claim 6 containing 3 to AO mg of the compoi.md of formula I per dosage unit.
8. A composition as claimed in claim 6 containing 3 to 15 mg of the compound of formula I per dosage unit.
9. A composition as claimed in claim 1, substantially as described herein with reference to any one of the Exam les.
10. A pharmaceutical product comprising a composition as claimed in any one of the preceding claims in association with directions for the use thereof in' the treatment of oedematously atelectatic changes of the lung.
11. A product as claimed in claim 10 wherein the associated directions are printed or written and physically attached to a container for the composition.
12. A product as claimed in claim 10 in a container therefor with separate directions for the use thereof provided together with the container.
13. A composition as claimed in any of claims 10 to 12 wherein the associated directions state the pharmacological actions and indications of the compound of formula I contained therein in the treatment of prematurely born children.
14. A product as claimed in claim 13 wherein the associated directions include instructions for the use of the composition in the treatment of the astlima syndrome, pulmonary hyaline-membrane disease and/or postperfusional lung syndrome in prematurely born children.
15. A product as claimed in any one of claims 10 to 14 wherein the associated directions specify the administration of the composition in a dosage which contains from 2 to 16 mg of the compound of formula I per kg body weight.
16. A product as claimed in claim 15 wherein the. associated directions specify the administration of the compound of formula 1 2 to 5 times daily.
17. A product as claimed in claim 16 wherein the associated directions specify the administration of the compound of formula I 4 times daily.
