Abstract
1398025 Electrostatic developer XEROX CORP 9 Nov 1972 [11 Nov 1971] 51804/72 Heading G2H [Also in Division C3] An electrostatic developer comprises a resin and a diarylide yellow colourant satisfying the Formula. The resin is preferably transparent. It may be a styrene-butyl methacrylate copolymer, a styrene-vinyltoluene copolymer, a styreneacrylate copolymer, a polystyrene resin or a polymeric esterification product of a dicarboxylic acid and a diol comprising a diphenol. The resin and colourant are compounded in toner particles, and mixed with carrier particles for cascade or magnetic brush development. Lists of resins and carrier particle materials are given.

Claims (8)
1. An eleetrostatographle developer material for developing electrostatic latent images, he developer material comprising dry toner particles, said particles being of a material comprising a resin material and a colorant, said colorant comprising diar lide yellow satisfying the formula:
2. A developer material according to claim 1 wherein said resin is a styrene-hutyl methacrylate copolymer, a styrene-vinyltoluene copolymer, a styrene-acrylate copolymer, or a polystyrene resin.
3. A developer material according to claim 1 orclaim 2 wherein said resin is transparent.
4. A developer material according to claim 1 or claim 3 wherein said resin comprises a polymeric esterification produce of a dicarfcoxylic acid and a diol comprising a diphenol.
5. A developer material according to any one of claims 1 to 4, the developer material includin carrier particles, said toner particles electroscopically adhering to said carrier particles. 40733/2
6. A developer material according to claim 5 wherein 1 part of said toner particles is present for 10 to 200 parts by weight of said carrier particles.
7. An electrostatographic develope material substantially as described in any one of the foregoing Examples I to V.
8. A electrostatographic imaging process comprising establishing an electrostatic latent image on a surface and contacting said surface with an electrostatographic developer material in accordance with any one of claims 1 to 7. - OH
