Description
Pipe coupling with connections PLASTOTECITICA, S.A C: 55893 The invention consists in a bell-shape pipe coupling with connections for household service and the like.
So date, pipe connections fo household service o the like, have been structured by clamps or similar members requiring multiple labor operations and accessories for their installation, all of which results in more difficult installations as well as an increase in the time installation.
On the other hand, since piping accessories and other materials used are generally subject to oxidation or rust, these may easily break, become misadjusted or simply become displaced producing operational failures.
It is therefore an object of this invention to provide a bell-shaped pipe coupling having integral connections for household service which are directly connected on the piping, by means of a screw or any other adequate attachment, said coupling avoiding all above in mentioned problems* since its installation Is made/a simple and accurate operation* I'he bell-shaped pipe coupling with connections for household service piping of the present invention, comprises tubular body having an external annular enlargement in one of its ends corresponding to an internal annular hollow recess, a sealing ring of an elastotaeric material positioned in the recess, an annular protuberance and a pluralit of longitudinal ribs formed i the coupling, an integral lateral tubular sleeve provided on said coupling, the annular protuberance and the ribs extending beyond the tubular sleeve, said sleeve forming a blind hole which, upon drill, ~ 5 - The protuberances limit the insertion of the pipe xhich is to be coupled within the bell-shaped coupling beyond the place where one or several integral external tubular-shaped sleeves are located, said integral lateral sleeves having a threaded or a smooth-surface, forming blind holes which, upon drilling through the wall of the bell-shaped coupling are encircled by them and furnish a connection for household service piping* The bell-shaped coupling according to the invention may be coupled to a similar element through the use of an internal sleeve to vhich said two similar elements are adequately attached or screwed, thus forming a double bell-shaped coupling having one or several connections for household service.
The invention is illustrated by the accompanying drawings in which: Fig* 1 is a elevated aide view of the bell-shaped pipe coupling having connections for household service of this invention; Pig. 2 is a longitudinal sectional view of the bell-shaped coupling illustrated in Pig. 1 prior to perforation of the blind hole; Fig. 3 is a elevated front view of the bell-shaped coupling illustrated in Figures 1 and 2; ig, 4 is a cross sectional view taken along the line 4-4 of Figure 2; Fig. 5 is a detailed elevated sectional side view illustrating two bell-shaped couplings of the present invention, coupled together, forming a double bell-shaped coupling with 37779/2 - 4 - its corresponding connections, after perforation of the blind holes* fhe bell-shaped pipe coupling with connections for household service of the present invention generally designated as 11, in Pig. 1, comprises a cylindrical tubular body 12, having near one of its ends an external annular protuberance 13, that corresponds to an internal housing 14» in which a seal ring 15 of an elastomeric material le located; the bell-shaped coupling also indades in its internal surface a ring-shaped protuberance 16 and/or several longitudinal ribs 17 peripherically spaced to serve as abutments to prevent that a pipe which is to be coupled with the bell-shaped coupling 11 by its #nd 18, may slide beyond an integral lateral tubular sleeve 19 which may have any slanting with respect to the longitudinal axis of the bell-shaped coupling, said sleeve having either a smooth -finish surface or a threaded internal surface 20, said sleeve 19 while drilling through the wall of the piping to pierce the blind hole 21, provides a branch connection of the main pipe for household service and the like.
The end member 18 of the bell-shaped coupling may be threaded or may be coupled through an adequate attachment to a pipe end or to a tubular-shaped sleeve 22, to the opposite end of which sleeve another similar bell-shaped coupling is coupled, thus forming a double beH-shaped coupling as the one which is illustrated in Fig. 5» to afford multiple connections for household service and the like· 27779/2 - 5 -particularly referring to a preferred embodiment those skilled in the art will understand that the aforementioned and other changes in form and detail can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. 37779/2
