Description
An emitter o sound signals SERGE It well known to produce emitters of sound signals as time The major problem to be solved i the design and construction of these apparatus lies in the proper of sound signals with visual the emission of these sound signals in precise time I time announcers clocks of known type was found tha a certain time relative shift between the sound signal emission the true could be as high as a few It is the chief object of this invention to provide a sound signal emitter wherein the synchronization To the presen invention provides an emitter of sound signals associated a generato whereby a a given moment this begins to The sound signal emitter according to the present invention may used for example as a time as a advertising repeater or as a means for diffusin at predetermined times information of any desired According the present invention there is provided a sound producer involvin a magnetic tape havin a program to transmitted reproducing means reproducing said tape at a pick amplifying means to amplify the pulses produced by said pick up and including at least a sound producing arrangement coupled to the amplifying switching means for controlling an electrical suppl a programmed voltage circuit for said seitching a delay arrangemen keeping said switching means closed during a predetermined time said switching means by a pulse whereby an overall electronic circuit connected to the to be fed modulated output signals from the preamplifier is arranged to close the contact durin the generating of the modulated According to a specific form of embodiment of this invention the base of a firs said holding circuit receives said signals from the amplifying said acting an amplifier for said the collector of said being connected to the base of a switching constituting the said switch which Is adapted close directly or Indirectly said energizing Other features and advantages of this Invention will as the ollowing description proceeds with to the attached drawing illustrating diagrammatically by way of example an exemplary form of embodimen of the In the 1 is a wiring diagram of the sound signa emitter of and 2 a perspective embodied as a To facilitate the understanding of the followin description the latter will refer to a sound signal emitter consisting a time announcer advertising As clearly shown the diagram of this emitter comprises a pulse generato or oscilla 1 adapted close the electric circuit When movable contact arm 2 carried by the rotary shaft 2 and energized as will be explained presently engages a fixed contact such as in turn The input terminal a 6a of relay 6 is connected to the negative terminal of source 5 via a this example a transistor having its emitter 7a connected to the input terminal of said coil 6a of relay which the output terminal is connected to the positive terminal of The collector 7b of transistor 7 is connected on the other hand to the negative terminal of the source 5 via another conductor case another transistor connected in parallel with transistor 7 relay coil emitter 9a being likewise positive and its collector being the bases 7c and 9c being interconnected through conductor 10 comprisin a rectifie 11 example a and a resistor The conductor 8 connecting the negative terminal of the source 5 to the collector 9b contacts the other conductor 10 at a point situated between the rectifier 11 and resistor negative is also applied to said base This base 9c is connected via a coupling capacitor 13 to one end o a secondary winding 14a of a transformer 14 having its end connected vi conductor the positive termina of the source This conductor also connected to the emitter 9a coil A conventional unit consisting of a variable resistor and a capacito 17 Inserted between the conductors 10 and 15 the proper timela to relay This rela whe its contacts 18 19 are driving the recorded magnetic tape via a capstan a preamplifier a tape reader ah 25 with The primary winding of 14 connected to the output terminals 27 and 28 the preamplifier It may be reminded that both emitters 7a and 9a permanently that both collectors 7b and are permanently negative and tha base 9c is constantly whereby the current flow through the relay coil 6a dependent upon the potential applied to the base The emitter operation may summarized as When the movable contact arm 2 engages the the current from the negative terminal source flows via conductor contact movable contact shaft conductor to conductor 10 upstream of the base 7c so as to appl a negative bias to Due to this negative biasing of base se up through the this case a thus closing the circuit The circuit thus established causes the energization of relay relay contacts 18 and 19 are thus energizing the circuit 43 supplying current the tape driving amplifier and Since the contacts is biasing circuit of base would be opened immediately as contact 2 leaves contact possibly before the avoid this inconvenience the time constant provided by variable 16 and capacitor 17 maintains the biasing of base 7c during a predetermined time independently of said contacts 2 and When a recorded portion of the running tape registers with the reader 24 a modulated is fed via transformer 14 and capacitor 13 to the This voltage is amplified b transistor 9 via diode 11 and conducto biasses the base thu holding the switching condition necessary for the relay coil even end of Prom the foregoing it is clear that this invention utilizes three an energizin or fee which is a power an auxiliary circuit holding a control circuit i its energized and a starting independence between the firs circuit and the other two circuits is particularly convenient in that these two circuits can operated wit extremely low power as permitted by the use of sharp point contacts at As described the time constant 17 is also effective in case of break in as may a gap or break exists the it being understood that if this gap or break exceeds the present emitter stop automatically without requiring any control action from the This of ma pointing out that the output signal of 23 shared among a first channel directing one portion o said signals to the amplifier 25 which delivers them to the thus producing a sound a second channel receiving the directed to primary winding 14b of transformer As these signals are a modulation on the secondary winding 14a of this as already connected to base 9c via a couplin capacitor 13 as a unidirectional permitting the passage of alternatin current in the direction but counteracting the of direct current in the opposite This modulated voltage will the base 9c of transistor 9 and be amplified to flow out from collector 9b and bias in turn the base 7c through rectifier already set forth in the foregoing this 7 is a transistor and the biasing of its base permits the current flow between collector and thus ensuring switching action causing the energization of coil 6a of relay The sharing out of signals at the output of preamplifier permits of sufficien voltage at 14 while permitting an attentuatio of the sound and even the complete attentuation of the As clearly shown the and notably in 2 illustrating a typical and exemplary orm of embodiment of this invention in the of a time announcer or advertising the rotary switch 1 consists a 29 disposed behind a dial and arranged to drive pointers of which one 2 connected through the 2a and conductor 4a to the so ias to cause closure of the switch 1 when the apex pointer 2 engages the contacts connected to the negative terminal of the source via conductors 4 and Accordin to a specific provision of this form of embodiment the contacts 3 formed as a with connecting conductors and a conducting 41 on insulating face of dial This conducting 41 is connected to conductor 4 The 26 is disposed at the small end of a conical case adequate louvres 32 being in the wall of this case for the emission of the sound This case 31 carried by a column 33 the Interposition of a joint 34 comprising an passage the conducting wires corresponding conductors 4a and The base 36 is a member divided the vertical directio by a horizontal intermediate insulating partition upper compartment thus formed encloses the means fo driving the magnetic tape the tape itself of the endless or loop a roller the pulley the guide rollers the tape of the The compartment encloses dry batteries as well as the various component elements suspended from partition as the electric motor driving through a transmission belt the capstan the roller the relay the electronic elements and and the amplifiers 23 and Instead being a rotary as described the time programmer may be a pulse generator or having one terminal connected to the negative terminal of battery 5 and the other terminal connected to the base 7c of transistor insufficientOCRQuality
