Description

G HVAC AIR DUCTWORK TECHNOLOGICAL FIELDThe present disclosure is concerned with HVAC (Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning) systems, and more particularly, with a modular air duct for HVAC systems and a method for its construction.
BACKGROUND ART Typically, a HVAC system is associated with ductwork air ducts (also referred to as air ducts, air conduits, duct pipes, air channels, trunks, air conduits etc.) coupleable to the air treating unit and configured for transferring blown treated air from the air treating unit to the desired one or more destinations. Such air ducts are mostly made of pipes at a wide variety of shapes and sizes and made of a variety of materials, e.g. metal (typically Aluminum), polymers, composite materials, etc. The main forms of air ducts are solid ducts, flex ducts (coiled/corrugated ducts), and inflatable sock ducts. It is appreciated that storage and transportation of such ducts requires considerable space and respective handling. Even more so, air delivery/supply openings should be carried out in such pipe ducts, hence requiring additional labor in performing such outlet openings. 3. The air duct segment according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein a pair of air duct segments are coaxially connectable to one another by a fastening arrangement, and whereby a pair of neighboring bridging members of respective duct forming elements of the air duct segments, are coaxially connectable to one another.
4. The air duct segment according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the air duct opening extends along the entire length of the air duct segment and the modular air duct, respectively.
