Description

268290/ Mobile wind power plant Abstract The present mobile wind power plant contains ground-mounted towers with supports for a closed railroad track. The said supports accommodate the closed railroad track, which throughout the whole extent is located across the main wind direction in the given terrain. The said railroad track contains the lower and upper straight parallel sections located one above the other and the right and left side connecting sections. The said railroad track has at least one installed truck with opposite sail devices and at least one electric generator, which rotor is connected to at least one rotating wheel of the truck. The wheels of the said truck are mounted and pressed to the track rails from above, from outside and from bottom. Sails of the said sail device are directed at an acute angle to the same side with respect to the wind direction. The wind, acting on the sails, pushes the truck unidirectionally at all sections of the railroad track. When the truck moves along the track, the wheels and the generator rotor are rotating. An electric current is generated, which is transferred to electricity consumers.
Field of the invention The current invention is presented as a mobile wind power plant, which converts the energy of the wind into the electric power.
Description of cognate inventions Background of the invention The development of economics and business activity in the world continuously requires increasing the power consumption. The extraction of fossil sources of energy, e.g. oil, gas, coal, is becoming more and more 268290/ difficult and expensive from year to year. When they are burned the environment pollution and the climate changes occur. Therefore, a necessity has arisen to develop alternative renewable energy sources. The present mobile power plant is an alternative energy source. It uses the wind energy, generates an electrical current, which is delivered to the power consumers. At present wind power plants are widely used in the world, e.g.
Windmills, in which a heavy generator is installed at the top of the tower, which rotor is connected to a rotating propeller. The wind energy turns the propeller; at that the generator rotor is rotating, the electrical current is generated, which is delivered to the electrical power consumers. The Windmill power plant has a number of disadvantages. The construction, maintenance and repairs of such power plants are difficult and expensive.
During operation, they produce big noise and infrasound, which is harmful for health, kill mice and birds, decelerate the wind movement and affect the climate. The project inventions of mobile wind power plants are also known, see US Patent No.4302684 where the wind power plant contains a closed oval-shaped railroad track installed on the ground surface. The railroad track accommodates trucks with sails and an electrical current generator, which rotor is connected to the truck wheels. The wind acts on the truck sails and puts them in motion over the railroad track. When the wheels rotate, the generator rotor is rotating, the electrical current is generated, which is delivered to the electrical power consumers. See US Patent No. 5758911 where the wind power plant contains a closed oval- shaped railroad track installed on the ground surface. The railroad track accommodates railway trucks with sails and electrical current generators, which rotors are connected to the truck wheels. The trucks are fitted with wind azimuth sail control systems. The wind acts on the truck sails and puts them in motion over the railroad track. The rotation of wheels is 268290/ transformed into the rotation of generator rotors. The electrical current is generated, that is delivered to the electricity consumers. See US Patent No. 6992402 where the wind power plant contains a closed railroad track having straight parallel sections located across the wind direction and the connecting sections located in the direction of wind and opposite to it. The section opposite to the wind direction is located in an artificial tunnel.
Wind guiding devices are installed along the straight section on leeward.
Trucks with sails and electrical current generators are installed on the railroad track. The wind flow, while passing through the channels of the wind guiding device, changes its direction, and at the rear acts on the truck sails at an acute angle and puts them in motion over the railroad track. The rotation of wheels is transformed into the rotation of generator rotors. The electrical current is generated, that is delivered to the electricity consumers.
Brief description of the invention The present power plant should be built at places where prevailing winds blow in one direction. The power plant contains at least two towers designed for attaching the supports for a closed railroad track thereto. The said towers are installed on the ground in a series along the line perpendicular to the prevailing wind direction in the given terrain. The lower and upper supports of the closed railroad track are rigidly attached to the said towers on leeward at various levels over the height. And said lower supports are directed at a downward angle, and said upper supports are directed at an upward angle for the place of attachment to the towers. The closed railroad track, which throughout the whole extent is also located perpendicular to the prevailing wind direction, is rigidly attached to the said supports. The said closed railroad track has the lower and upper straight parallel horizontal sections located one above the other and the 268290/ right and left, vertically located, connecting sections. The rails of the said railroad track are rigidly fastened with metal sleepers, which in turn are rigidly attached to the said supports. The said lower straight section of the railroad track is attached to the said lower supports. The said upper straight section of the railroad track is attached to the said upper supports. At least one truck with two oppositely mounted sail devices with at least one electrical current generator moves over the said closed railroad track. The wheels of the said truck are mounted at the top, outside and at the bottom, pressed to the rails and are moving over the railroad track. Two sail devices mounted on the truck casing from both sides, at the top and bottom of the railroad track. Sails of the sail device made of light, durable material in the form of airplane wing and mounted upright, parallel to each other at a row and turned at an acute angle in same direction relative to the wind. At least one direct current generator, which rotor is connected to at least one rotating truck wheel, is installed on the said truck casing. Principle of action of the present power plant. The wind flows around the both sides of the truck sails at an acute angle of attack with the truck being located on the closed railroad track. In doing so, the forces arise pushing the truck at all sections of the railroad track in one direction. When the truck moves over the railroad track, the truck wheels and the generator rotor connected to the wheel are rotating. Electrical current is generated, which at least through one self-wiping contact is transferred from the truck moving over the railroad track to the electrical power consumers. On the said truck, it is possible to install a mechanism of sail aiming into the wind or special systems for electronic control of azimuth sail turns. It is possible to build and use the present power plant with two railroad tracks. In doing so, the second railroad track will be attached to the supports on the other side of the towers at a different level over the height. 268290/ Brief description of the drawings Fig. 1 Front view of the mobile wind power plant without trucks Fig. 2 Front and side isometric view of the mobile wind power plant without trucks Fig. 3 Front view of the truck Fig. 4 Side view of the truck Fig. 5 Front view of the mobile wind power plant with trucks Fig. 6 Front view of the mobile wind power plant with two railroad tracks without trucks
