Description

1 D p J Π 3 I D 1 D il l D J 0 Π Π p 1 Π D ΠΊΝΙΠΟ 26692 Pile 15816 The present invention relates to a fitting for necting tubes or say of flexible plastics or rubber or other soft or flexible hoses or with metallic or other rigid parts such as taps and the like The fittings according to the invention may also be used to connect together two flexible They may form elbows or tees and any other forms or shapes customary with such In accordance with the there is provided a connector fitting use with hoses and tubes characterized thereby that fitting comprises a member having a tubular socket at least at one end which is adapted to receive flexible hose of the kind referred to there being positioned within said tubular socket and near to its open end a metal conical sleeve the wider side which is directed towards the open end of the the said sleeve being embedded in the wall of said tubular socke with its wider side flush with said wall and its narrowe side jutting inwardly from said According to another the inner diameter of the tubular socke is increased for the part thereof immediately inwardly an axial direction of the conical In a preferred embodiment of the invention the edge at the narrower side of the said conical sleeve is sharpened to form a knife The invention will now be described in detail with Pile 15816 executional forms of the It should be that the invention is not restricted to the forms shown and that it is applicable to all kinds and of customary connector I the annexed drawings the invention is shown in 1 in the form of a the latter being shown in an axial 2 exemplifies the use of the fitting according to the invention for the connection of a hose to a water 3 exemplifies a straight connector use in connecting a flexible hose to the tapped end of a metallic tube or Turning first to the new connector comprises a tee at both ends of which are provided tubular sockets 1 adapted to receive the end of flexible hoses In each of the said sockets is positioned a metal conical sleeve 3 the wider of which is directed The connector that is to sa the tee piece shown in may be made of plastic by injection and the sleeve 3t being is placed into the mould prior to moulding so that it becomes incorporated in the tee and embedded in the wall of the socket As can be seen in 1 the wider end the sleeve which is directed towards the open end of the socket is flush with the wall of the while the narrower end of the sleeve 3 which is directed inwardly out slightly from the wall of the Now if a fitting hose 2 is introduced into the socket passing through the sleeve it will be extremely difficult to ull it out a ain since the shar ed e of the metallic slev File 15816 will cut into the material of the hose and will hold the latter firmly in the In this according to the example of a flexible pipe line constituted by two sections hose 2 may be provided with a tee so that the central arm of the tee which is provided with a screw thread 4 can be connected by means of a record or otherwise to a riser or whatever spout in the tional The connector fitting illustrated in 1 is formed with a portion 1 of smaller internal diameter than that of tubular socket 1 so as to define an annular shoulder 14 to limit the movement of the flexible hose 2 whe Inserted into the tubular tubular space 15 the interior of the fitting immediately inwardly of the conical sleeve widens slightly in inward axial direction up to shoulder The inserted flexible being yielding to a certain degree under the pressure of the widen and fill the widened space 15 within the thereby more securely holding the pipe and also obviating the need of an additional 2 shows an elbow 5 by means a nut 6 can be connected to the outlet of a tap A hose can be inserted into the socket 8 and will be held by the conical sleeve 9 in the manner indicated The straight 10 shown in 3 receives a flexible hose in its socket 11 while its opposite screw 15816 way with a metallic or other Those skilled in the art will understand readily that the new connectors of whatever shape and that the invention is applicable to all kinds of fittings which may be made of plastic material by conventional insufficientOCRQuality

Claims (9)

P.A. 26692 File I58I6 31. II.69 WHAT IS CLAIMED IS:
1. A connector fitting for use with flexible hoses and tubes characterized thereby that the fitting comprises a member having a tubular socket at least at one end which is adapted to receive a flexible hose of the kind referred to above, there being positioned within said tubular socket and near to its open end a metal conical sleeve the wider side of which is directed towards the open end of the socket, the said sleeve being embedded in the wall of said tubular socket with its wider side flush with said wall and its narrower side jutting inwardly from said1 wall.
2. A connector as defined in Claim 1, wherein the inner diameter of the tubular socket is increased for the part thereof immediately inwardly in an axial direction of said conical sleeve.
3. ' A connect©!^as claimed in Claim 2, wherein the said increased diameter part of the tubular socket terminates in an annular shoulder of smaller diamete than the open end of the tubular socket.
4. A connector as claimed in any one of Claims 1-3» wherein said connector is made of a plastic,
5. A connector as claimed in any one of Claims 1-4, urther characterized thereby that the said conical sleeve has a sharpened edge.
6.· A connector as claimed in any one of Claims 1-5» further characterized thereby that the connector is a straight tubular member having a screw thread at one end.' P.A. 26692 Pile 15816 31.XII.69
7· A connector as claimed in any one of Claims 1-5» further characterized thereby that the connector is a T-piece.
8. A connector as claimed in any one of Claims 1-5» further characterized thereby that the connector is an elbow piece.
