Abstract

A serial connector is provided having a plurality of contact members for coupling with a corresponding external contact member, at least one of the contact members having an elongated body with a first end configured to be coupled to the external contact member, a second end configured to be coupled to a conductor, and first and second shoulder portions spaced from the each other along the body's length. The connector comprises a plate having at least one contact holding aperture, a contact housing to hold a portion of the body and to securely engage with the aperture. The contact housing has a first stop member configured to engage the first shoulder, and a locking member having a second stop member configured to engage the second shoulder. The contact housing includes a securing arrangement for securing the body inside the aperture.
