Description

COMBINED ADVERTISING DEVICE The present invention relates to a combined audio visual device for use in advertising and sales promotion, and more particularly to a multi-media advertising means.

Advertising activites - as far as relating to commercial sales promotion are mostly limited to printed information contained in or consisting mainly in placards or posters exhibited to locations where it is expected that passers by would see that information and - hopefully - read it, and also to similar printed intelligence contained in newpapers or magazines. Audible advertising is widely used on the radio where promotional jingles are transmitted time and again advertising all kind of goods. A combination of sight and sound advertising is used in the commercial television.

Advertising directed to the consumer in public places or department stores is restricted to one media i.e. visually perceived kind.

It is the main object of the invention to provide an advertising means that visibly may be perceived by a large number of individuals and at the same time impresses those individuals by an audible accompaniment to that visible advertisement, namely to combine the visual part with an accompanying sound.

It is also an object of the invention to provide means which can be materialized at relatively low cost, using simple generally available means.

Finally it is an object of the present invention to provide a new concept of advertising means, to be used mainly in public places.

According to the invention the combined device comprise in combination: a skeletal structure including a platform and a therefrom rising at least one turnably mounted pole adapted to receive thereon a body of any shape, or configuration designed to display or to carry a message or an image, which pole is functionally connected to a turning drive means and a sound system, and an illuminatln system and a control system for all said components.

In the preferred embodiment a plurality of T.V. screens could be added to said combined device, and a V.T.R. system.

In a further embodiment said combined device could be mounted on a vehicle to be self-propelled.

These and further features of the invention will become clear from the following detailed description which has reference to the accompanying drawings.

In the drawings Fig. 1 is a schematical plan view of the new device, Fig. 2 being a lateral elevational view thereof, while Fig. 3 is an elevational rear view of the device.

Fig. 4 is a schematical plan view of the new device mounted on a vehicle Fig. 5 is a schematical lateral view of the new device mounted on a vehicle Fig. 6 is a schematical lateral rear view of the new device mounted on a vehicle.

Turning first to Fig. 1 the device comprises a supporting skeletal structure 1 which encloses a platform 2 from which rises a mast or pole 3. The skeletal structure is preferably supported on a pair of wheels 8. The platform 2 is raised a distance above the base portion of structure 1, such that an empty space 4 is formed below the platform 2 and above the said base is structure 1. This empty space 4 may serve as a storage place for advertising and other auxiliary material or implements.

The said mast or pole 3 is mounted rotatably, its drive being provided by an electromotor 7 to which the mast or pole 3 is coupled.

The uppermost part of the skeletal structure Is of allround extending frustoconical shape and advantageously may consist of transparent material, such as glass panes or plastics plates which are illuminated by projectors 5 located at different paints within the said frustoconical part .

At different points there are carried on the structure 1 sound emitting means 6, such as loud-speakers over which slogans and/or songs and music can be broadcast.

J The device as a whole can be wheeled manually or hitched to a vehicle, say a tricycle or a motor car. The necessary electric current for the motor 7 is supplied by the motor car's electrical equipment, or in case that a tricycle is used by a battery carried on the tricycle.

There is further provided a control box provided with on/off switch, timer and the like components, so as to enable the activation of the different components in a predetmined manner.

As can be seen in Fig. 4, 5 and 6 the above structure is mounted on a vehicle and a plurality of T.V. sets are also mounted to add an additional media to the display, said T.V. sets may be connected to a plurality of V.T.R systems so that a plurality of videos could be played.

The use of the new device is obvious and self explanatory: while cruisng at a selected location where a sufficiently large group of spectators and listeners may be expected to be present, sales promoting or otherwise advertising texts or songs are broadcast, while written texts appearing on the transparent enclosure of the frustoconical part are made visible.

On the central pole any kind of figure could be mounted which figure would rotate in accordance with the predetermined program.

Those familiar with such publical relation means will easily understand that certain changes in the upbuild of the new device would be withering the gist of the invention. So, the frustoconcial part of structure 1 may be cylindrical, the illuminating means may be disposed at different locations and colors, and the sound emitting devices may also be differently located. The use would be as described in combination of sound, light and motion.

Claims (7)

CLAIMS:

1. A combined audio-visual advertising device comprising in combination: a skeletal structure including a platform and a therefrom rising at least one turnably mounted pole adapted to receive thereon a body of any shape, or configuration designed to display or to carry a message or an image, which pole is functionally connected to a turning drive means and a sound system, and an illuminatin system and a control system for all said components .

2. The device claimed by Claim 1 characterised thereby that the said skeletal structure includes a storage space below the said platform.

3. The device claimed by Claims 1 or 2 characterised thereby that the structure is supported on at least one pair of wheels.

4. The device claimed in any of the foregoing claims characterised thereby that an electromotor is provided supplying drive to the said turnably mounted pole.

5. The device claimed by all or any one of the foregoing claims characterised thereby that body carried on the said pole is made of transparent material.

6. The device claimed by all or any one of the foregoing claims characterised thereby that said combined device is mounted on a vehicle.

7. The combined device, substantially as hereinbefore described and shown by the accompanying drawings .
