Abstract

An ankle boot comprising: a) a bottom comprising a sole (21) having a heel portion (22), b) an upper (3) having a quarter (4) with two flaps (15, 16) forming the front part of the quarter extending to the top of the boot wherein a lacing mechanism (7) extends in a substantially lower portion of the flaps, but there is no lacing mechanism in a substantially upper portion of the flaps, and c) an ankle support (8) providing a separate layer outside the upper portion of the flaps (15, 16) and comprising left and right support panels (17, 18) which are not attached to the flaps, the left and right second support panels having a lacing mechanism (11, 12) whereby the support panels (17, 18) can be laced together around the flaps (15, 16). In the embodiment described, the ankle support (8) comprises a rear portion secured at the counter (10) of the boot and wings (17, 18) extending forwardly from the rear portion; and the sole comprises an integrally moulded heel-cradle (2), substantially extending upwardly from the heel portion (22) ofthe sole. .

Description

An ankle boot comprising: a) a bottom comprising a sole (21) having a heel portion (22), b) an upper (3) having a quarter (4) with two flaps (15, 16) forming the front part of the quarter extending to the top of the boot wherein a lacing mechanism (7) extends in a substantially lower portion of the flaps, but there is no lacing mechanism in a substantially upper portion of the flaps, and c) an ankle support (8) providing a separate layer outside the upper portion of the flaps (15, 16) and comprising left and right support panels (17, 18) which are not attached to the flaps, the left and right second support panels having a lacing mechanism (11, 12) whereby the support panels (17, 18) can be laced together around the flaps (15, 16). In the embodiment described, the ankle support (8) comprises a rear portion secured at the counter (10) of the boot and wings (17, 18) extending forwardly from the rear portion; and the sole comprises an integrally moulded heel-cradle (2), substantially extending upwardly from the heel portion (22) of the sole. . .......

Claims (5)

1. An ankle boot comprising: a) a bottom comprising a sole having a heel portion, b) an upper having a quarter with two flaps forming the front part of the quarter extending to the top of the boot wherein a lacing mechanism extends in a substantially lower portion of the flaps, but there is no lacing mechanism in a substantially upper portion of the flaps, and c) an ankle support providing a separate layer outside the upper portion of the flaps and comprising left and right support panels which are not attached to the flaps, the left and right second support panels having a lacing mechanism whereby the support panels can be laced together around the flaps.
2. An ankle boot according to claim 1 wherein the ankle support comprises a rear portion secured at the counter of the boot and wings extending forwardly from the rear portion.
3. A boot according to claim 1 wherein the sole comprises an integrally moulded heel cradle, substantially extending upwardly from the heel portion of the sole.
4. A riding boot comprising a) a bottom comprising a sole having a heel portion, and b) an upper, wherein the sole comprises an integrally moulded heel cradle, substantially extending upwardly from the heel portion of the sole.
