Abstract

Apparatus 1 for producing lengths of coded plastic cable 2 for use in wiring harnesses includes supply cable guide means 3, cable straightening means 4 and infeed cable guide means 5 for guiding the cable to a cable supporting roller 6. The roller 6 supports the cable during priting from a printing head 7. A code is printed on a cable at preset locations as the cable travels over the roller 6. The cable is tensioned by a spring biased jockey pulley 25 and is pulled over an outfeed guide roller 35 which guides the coded cable to a cutting head.
