Abstract

A holder (1) for use with chalk sticks comprises a sleeve in which a stick (C) is held, a slot (5) is provided in the wall of the sleeve so that the sleeve may be opened to accommodate the stick. The sleeve has a biasing resilience to hold the stick in place. A stick urging device (10) is provided within the sleeve. A tab (27) attached to the urging device extends from the slot to allow the stick to be moved within the holder. The tab is engageable in one of a plurality of stops (12) provided along one side of the slot.
