The present invention relates to aircraft safety. In particular the invention provides an aircraft spat, comprising a fixed structure with no moving parts, manufactured from clear blow-moulded lexan polymer. The advantage of the inventions that, unlike standard existing wheel spats, this invention allows for clear definitive pre-flight inspection of the brake assembly, condition of the tyre and allows the individual concerned to quickly and easily check for and remove any presence of debris, which could be hazardous. All of these elements contribute to safer operation of the aircraft.
