Abstract

The present invention relates to a fireproof, water-resistant paper/file folder. In particular the file/folders are comprised of fire- and water-resistant paper and include a magnetic closing machanism running around the rim of each side/length of the folder. The advantage of the invention is that documents stored in the file/folder will not be destroyed for a certain extended period of time should a fire occur. The file/folder is also efective in terms of resisting water for an extended period of time should water be poured on the folder or water sprinklers activated. The file/folder is also an effective storage file due to its strong magnetic closing feature. <Figure 1>

Description

Fireproof and Water Resistant Paper Filing Folder/ File.

Field of Invention The present invention relates to paper files/folders. In particular the invention relates to a new type of file/folder that has both fireproof/ resistant and water resistant qualities and a magnetic closing mechanism for the file/folder. Background to the Invention Paper files/folders are used in offices and homes all around the country and globally. Traditionally known as Manilla Folders .Paper files/folders come in a variety of different sizes, shapes and have different storing capabilities. For the purpose of this application, the file/folder we are using to illustrate is an A4 sized file/folder. Our invention however covers unlimited size ranges.

There are currently no fireproof/resistant and water resistant paper folders available in the Irish market, whereby if somebody left important documentation on their desk and the building caught on fire, for example a solicitor had left a will/ title deeds to a property, the documentation would be destroyed. Our folder would protect these documents for an extended period of time until a fire brigade arrived or a party extinguished the fire.

Statement of the Invention Our file/folder consists of fire-proof, water resistant, paper manufactured into an A4 documents/file storage folder. We can also develop folder/files of a different size, but for the purpose of illustration, we will use A4 sized. The folder will be marginally bigger than you’re regular A4 sized folder and 3 magnetic strips will be attached to each side/length and they will connect with magnetic strips on the opposing side for secure closing of the file/folder. The advantages of the invention are that regular paper files/folders would instantly go up in flames if caught in even a modest fire.

Our file/folder is resistant to heat up to an extreme level and has fire resistant qualities that will prevent the documents burning, for an extended period of time, enabling the fire brigade to arrive or someone to put out the fire.

The paper also has water resistant qualities, should water sprinklers be activated or a party was to throw water to extinguish the fire the documents inside the folders would also be protected.

The magnetic closing feature also enables far safer security of documents in general circumstances, preventing the documents from falling out or being misplaced. Ο 3 2.2 Brief Description of the drawings The invention will be more clearly understood from the following description of an embodiment thereof, given by way of an example only, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 and Figure 2 of the drawings show a front elevation of the file/folder structure according to the invention.

Figure 3 and Figure 4 of the drawings show a side elevation of the file/folder structure according to the invention.

Detailed Description of the drawings Referring now to the drawings and initially to Figure 1, where there is a front view of the file/folder, there is illustrated a paper covered magnetic strip at (1) and a corresponding paper covered magnetic strip at figure at (2).

Image Figure 2 illustrates when the folder/file is closed over and the paper covered magnetic strips (1) and (2) meet together to secure the file.

Referring now to Figure 3, at (1) shows a side elevation of the same paper covered magnetic strip for illustration purposes. No. (2) Illustrates the corresponding paper covered magnetic strip and finally Figure 4 shows a side elevation where the two paper covered magnetic strips (1) and (2) meet together to show the file/folder closed and sealed.

Claims

1. A paper file/folder comprising of fire proof, water resistant paper; Each side of the folder contains a paper covered magnetic strip, so the folder/file 5 will automatically close when folded over, to prevent the documents being burnt or ignited, should a fire commence.

2. The file/folder of any preceding claim can be manufactured in alternative sizes and shapes, for example including but not limited to, A4, A3, Al etc.
