Abstract

A process for purifying dinitroanilines contaminated with introsamines comprises contacting nitrosamine-containing dinitroaniline selected from said triflurlain, isopropalin, benefin, butralin, tendimethalin, fluchloralin, profluralin, dinitramine, 4-trifluoromethyl-2, 6- dinitro-3-chloro-N, N-diethylaniline, 4-methyl-2, 6-dinitro-N, N-bis (2- chloroethyl)aniline, oryzalin, and nitralin, (1) in liquid phase, (2) with a reagent selected from molecular bromine, molecular chlorine, N-bromosuccinimide, N-chlorosuccinimide, bromine chloride, pyridine perbromide, and pyridinium bromide perbromide, until the concentration of the nitrosamine has been reduced. t [GB2003148A]
