Abstract
Polymers or copolymers derived from a polyorganosiloxane monomer bonded terminally to a polymerisable, activated, unsaturated group via a divalent hydrocarbon group are particularly suitable for contact lenses having significantly increased oxygen-transport capacity. The conversion of the polymer compositions into contact lenses is carried out, inter alia, by centrifugal casting.
