Abstract
In a brackish water desalination plant of the multipleexpansion type, the improvement consisting in the provision of a flash prelimanry stage having a plurality of rectangular slots sized so as to allow a flow of liquid larger than the nominal one, so that the pressure drop is localized at the slots and the flashing phenomena take place at the outlet from the slots. By so doing, the system becomes selfadjusting and the emptying of the flashing stage will be prevented.
