Abstract
1514234 Automatic exchanger systems COMPAGNIE INDUSTRIELLE DES TELECOMUNICATIONS CIT-ALCATEL 21 May 1975 [4 June 1974] 21734/75 Heading H4K A connection network CC for interconnecting a plurality of operated positions PU1-PU24 and junctors, such as JCL, LR &c., has an individual control unit for selecting and setting up connections through the network, the control unit being further provided with means for monitoring the degree of occupation of the operator positions and junctors. The arrangement forms part of the PBX disclosed in Application No. 3582/75 which includes duplicate multiregisters ME 1 , ME 2 , duplicate main switching network control units MC 1 , MC 2 and duplicate operator connection network control units MO 1 , MO 2 , the system being configured as two separate control systems each comprising a multiregister, a main network control unit and an operator network control unit. The current application gives details of the operator network CC (Figures 2 and 3, not shown) and the operator network control unit MO 1 (Figures 4 and 5, not shown. Mention is also made of a monitor desk SU. Operator Network CC:-Figure 3, not shown, illustrates an arrangement for interconnecting a compartment of 12 junctors with 24 operator circuits in a non-blocking fashion using 18, 4x4 matrices of miniature reed relays mounted on printed circuit cards, the wires for each set of four junctors being multipled to six different 4x4 matrices. Use is made of diodes in the relay operating and holding circuits. Operator Network Control Unit MO 1 :-Each operator network control unit MO 1 , MO 2 works with its respective system the two systems working in a time division manner to avoid simultaneous seizures &c. The operator network control unit receives a request for connection to an operator from the corresponding multirecorder and includes registers for storing the junctor number comprising a rack number, compartment number and card number, and the number of the caller. Each unit MO 1 , MO 2 is further provided with a scanner driven by a binary counter arranged to reset at count 25. However each unit only has twelve scan leads corresponding to half the operator circuits but has access via an interconnection to the twelve scan leads of the other unit. A comparator is also provided for comparing the category of a free operator circuit found by the scanner with the category requested by the multiregister as different operator positions may deal with different types of traffic. Should a free operator position not be available an "operator position saturated" signal is produced. The unit also has logic and register means for accepting junctor requests from the operators and for transmitting the information to the multirecorder which includes a record of the state of all junctors. Should the multirecorder fail to allocate a junctor to the operator within a predetermined time, the central logic of the operator network control unit causes an "all junctors busy" signal to be given to the operator. Monitor Desk SU:-This is equipped with indicator lamps and pushbuttons which enable a supervisor to both monitor the degree of occupation of each operator and to allocate the different types of traffic to the operators. No details are given.
