1443863 Aminoethanol derivatives SYNTHELABO 11 Oct 1974 [12 Oct 1973] 44182/74 Heading C2C Novel compounds (I) (including salts thereof) wherein A is an oxygen or sulphur atom; R is a C 1-5 alkyl group; R 1 is a hydrogen or halogen atom or a trifluoromethyl, trifluoromethoxy mercapto, trifluoromethylthio, nitro or amino group or a C 1-5 alkyl, alkoxy or alkylthio group, x is an integer of 1 to 3; n is an integer of 1 to 4; and m is 1 or 2 and p is 0 or 1, subject to the provisos that when m is 1, p is 1, and when m is 2, p is 0, are made by reacting compounds (VI) (X is halogen) with compounds (VII). M - trifluoromethylthio - acetophenone, mtrifluoromethylthio- α - bromo - acetophenone, 1 - (m - trifluoromethylthiophenyl)- 2 - bromoethanol and 1 - (m - trifluoromethylthiophenyl)- 1 - methoxy - 2 - bromoethane are also prepared. Pharmaceutical preparations suitable for treating obesity contain (I) as active ingredient. Administration is, e.g. orally. [GB1443863A]
