Abstract

1413860 Automatic exchange systems; impedance converters; active reactances INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP 6 Dec 1973 [31 Jan 1973] 56521/73 Headings H4K H3U and H3R A transistor circuit is connected between a D.C. power supply and the wires of a subscribers line so as to simulate an inductance, thereby isolating A.C. signals on the line from the power supply. The circuit shown is connected to an exchange - 48 volts supply and to the wires a, b extending to a subscriber's subset. A theoretical analysis of the equivalent circuit shows that from the A.C. point of view the circuit is equivalent to an inductor connected between the wires of the line with its mid-point grounded, the value of the inductance being given by: which approximates to L = 4R1-R2-C1.
