1420315 Coated glass products IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES LTD 24 Jan 1973 [2 Feb 1972] 4828/72 Headings B1E and B2E [Also in Divisions C1 and C3] A glass article is coated by contacting the substantially moisture-free surface with a hydrocarbyl compound of a metal of groups IVA, VA, VIA, VIIA, or VIII of the Periodic Table, aluminium, magnesium or zinc under inert conditions. The glass may be a soda, borosilicate, alumina-silicate and alumina-borosilicate glass. It may be in the form of fibres, filaments, plates, sheets or in particulate form. It may also be a fabric such as a woven or knitted fabric. Suitable organic compounds are tetrakis (#-allyl) zirconium or hafnium, tris- (#-allyl) chromium, tetrakis (#-methallyl) zirconium or hafnium, tris (#-methallyl) chromium and zirconium tris(#-allyl) bromide.
