1305331 Tape loading SONY CORP 19 Jan 1971 [24 Jan 1970(4)] 2578/71 Heading G5R In a motor driven arrangement for automatically withdrawing tape 16 from a cassette 11 and for wrapping the tape around a rotary heads drum 79, a gear 51<SP>1</SP> (Fig. 12) is rotated to cause a rack 124 to move away from the cassette as a consequence of engagement with a pinion 123 whereby a plate 46<SP>1</SP> is forced to make a similar movement and, as a further consequence, tape guide members move from positions A 1 , B 1 , C 1 , to A 2 , B 2 , C 2 , and simultaneously pull tape 16 from the cassette. At this latter position, a gear 132 on plate 46<SP>1</SP> meshes with the pinion 123, as shown, and the rotation of the gear 132 causes the guide members to be rotated via intermediate positions A 3 , A 4 &c. to final positions A 5 , B 5 , C 5 , whereat the tape slackens and falls from the guides to envelop the drum 79. The Specification also repeats in a substantially identical form the subject matter of Specification 1,297,686, wherein arms 63f-66f, Fig. 1, wrap tape 16 around drum 79, and also that of Specification 1,290,044, in respect of a system (Figs. 8, 9, not shown) for releasing the tape from the drum.
