Abstract

1,244,399. Fluorine-containing polymer coatings. E.I. DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO. 31 Oct., 1969 [25 Nov., 1968], No. 53477/69. Heading B2E. [Also in Division C3] Substrates are coated with a primer composition comprising (a) from 10% to 75%, by weight of the total of (a) and (b) solids of lithium polysilicate containing from 15% to 35% by weight, of silica (determined as SiO 2 ), having an SiO 2 Li 2 O mol ratio of 4-25/1, and being free of alkali metals (other than lithium and those which cannot be removed by ion exchange), (b) from 25 to 90%, by weight of the total of (a) and (b) solids, of a particulate polymer of a hydrocarbon monomer completely substituted with fluorine atoms with or without chlorine atoms; the lithium polysilicate and the polymer being dispersed in a liquid carrier. In the Examples an aluminium frying pan was coated with the primer and top coated with a further P.T.F.E. dispersion. [GB1244399A]
