Abstract

1,247,726. PVC compositions. B. F. GOODRICH CO. 4 Oct., 1968 [5 Oct., 1967 (2)], No. 47166/68. Heading C3P. Compositions contain 80-98% wt. of PVC and 20-2% of a cross-linked copolymer of (a) at least 80% wt. of an alkyl acrylate having 2-4 carbons in the alkyl; (b) optionally up to 19 5% of a vinylidene comonomer ; and (c) 0 5-8% of a non-conjugated cross-linking monomer which is an acrylate or methacrylate ester of a polyhydric alcohol containing 2-6 such ester groups or an alkenyl ether of a polyhydric alcohol containing-2-6 such ether groups, the copolymer having a solubility in toluene below 20% at room temperature and a particle size of 500-8000 . The details of the copolymer are as described in Specification 1,177,029. The PVC is preferably rigid but contains styrene/ acrylonitrile processing aid, titanium dioxide, tin stabilizer and calcium stearate. [GB1247726A]
