Abstract

1,244,385. Suspending curtains. G. KLEIN. Dec.31, 1968 [Jan.26, 1968], No.61932/68. Heading A4B. A bracket for supporting a curtain rail 18 with an inverted-T section longitudinal groove 20 in its top comprises a fixed bracket 1 or 24 secured to a wall, Fig. 1, or ceiling 10, Fig. 4, with a depending vertical pivot about which a rail engaging support member 4 is rotatable through 90 degrees, the member 4 having a depending lug 13 which is engageable with a side 21 of the rail 18 and carrying through a short cylindrical neck (14) a generally rectangular plate 15 which has its longer sides (16) disposed perpendicular to the plane of the lug 13 and which is engageable beneath edges 19 of the rail groove 20. The rail 18 is releasable by rotation of the support member 4 through 90 degrees about the pivot 7 so that the plate 15 extends lengthwise of the rail 18. A pin 23 depending from the bracket 1 or 24 engages an arcuate slot 22 in the support member 4 to limit rotation to 90 degrees. In another embodiment Fig. 2 (not shown) the support member 4 is carries by an extension plate (3) slidably supported by the bracket 1. In a further embodiment Fig. 3 (not shown), the bracket 1 slidably carries an extension plate (3<SP>1</SP> ) which in turn slidably carries a further plate (3<SP>11</SP> ) with a support member 4 for a second rail.
