Abstract

1,258,241. Pigmented polymer compositions. JOHNSON, MATTHEY & CO. Ltd. 16 Dec., 1968 [22 Dec., 1967], No. 58433/67. Heading C3P. [Also in Divisions B6 and H1] Transfers are made by printing sheet material with ink comprising a thermoplastic acrylic resin which may be a terpolymer and one or more metallic, pigmentary, semi-conductive or .dielectric materials. Suitable acrylic resins include methyl methacrylate/butyl methacrylate copolymer, ethyl hexyl acrylate and polybutyl methacrylate. Preferably a further resin, which acts as a low melting point component is included. Suitable resins are maleic resin, a modified maleic resin, a modified rosin or a cyclic ketone condensate. Solvents, such as amyl or butyl lactate or aliphatic hydrocarbons and plasticizers such as dioctyl phthalate, dibutyl phthalate and butyl phthalyl-butyl glycollate may be present, together with a surfactant which may be stearic acid, glyceryl monostearate, stearamide or amide wax.
